Dear Moms and Dads: A Few More Reasons Why Skateboarding Is Beneficial

supreme clothingIn the last article, moms and dads and anyone reading learned a few awesome benefits of skateboarding. Not only is it a great way to express yourself, including being able to rep Supreme clothing, but it can improve coordination, boost your metabolism, and is a relatively inexpensive sport.

In this next part of the article, you’ll get to hear a few more reasons why picking up that skateboard will be one of the better decisions you’ll make in life.

Pain Hurts Less
So, in other words, you become a superhero. No, just kidding, but you do learn to ignore the fear you have of pain. As with the majority of sports, there is an inherent risk associated with skateboarding. The danger is typically isolated to a fall while going fast or performing a trick, or dropping in on the bowl. New skaters will usually fear the pain the most and deck themselves out in all of the safety gear. Eventually, as they fall more and more and get used to it, they learn to embrace the fear and ignore the pain, pushing themselves to be better. Tenacity is an invaluable trait to have in the real world.

Incites Bravery
Sure, you can yell “Freedom!” every time you try to nail that laser flip, but that’s not quite the idea. With the tenacity that comes from moving past the pain, comes the willpower to continue trying even though you may get hurt again. Practice makes perfect, and sometimes practicing a new move can mean getting hurt. Not only are you able to ignore the pain, but you’re willing to keep trying that trick anyway. That in itself is bravery, and it will eventually translate into other areas of your life.

Helps With Balance
One of the many wonderful physical benefits to skateboarding is better balance. Skateboarding takes a lot of balance to be comfortable enough to perform tricks or improve skill, and as your skill progresses, so does your balance.

Roughly 11 million people have said that they enjoy skateboarding on a regular basis. That is what helps fuel the industry and allow stores like Supreme clothing to keep creating new and awesome Supreme merchandise that’s so popular with skaters. So, now that you know skateboarding is good for you, will you add yourself to that 11 million strong?
